U.K. retailers have already begun taking pre-orders for Sony’s PlayStation 4, revealed last night at an event in New York City.

GAME is offering punters the chance to get in line first, with pre-orders now open in-store or on their website – just plonk down a £20 deposit, and you're in.

Similarly, ShopTo.net is now taking pre-orders for the console, which is listed at £399.95. It’s worth noting that Sony has not confirmed an official price point for PS4 yet, so this is likely just a placeholder.

Rumors have suggested a £300 launch price for Sony’s new high-powered platform.

@2 Thats funny because I just went down to Gamestop and they said that it wasn't in there system yet and that I would be put on a reminder list so when it does come out I would be notified. You just lied.

@3&4- Let me specify then since I have to, sorry, I forgot what website im on. I still call it reserving, even though they just put you on a reminder list. The reason I do this, is so I don't have to sit here, and explain it all out in a comment, because people can't get a clue to what im saying. I don't waste my time, and put my name on a list for s h i t and giggles, so reguardless its going to be reserved when the time comes around, and Gamestop is ready, unless i decide otherwise. I say the same thing on other websites, and nobody has a problem and understand. Are you both satisfied? =) =)

@5 it wont be automatically reserved, all that does is when a release date is announced and reservations begin, you are on the list to be first notified before the public, so you have a CHANCE to reserve it at your disposal, you are not on some giddy little list giving you automatic reservation, its just a notification list for first come first serve.
