Mass Effect 3: Citadel DLC announced

Mass Effect 3: Citadel, the final chunk of single-player DLC for the celebrated sci-fi RPG, will be released in March, Electronic Arts has confirmed.

Citadel is an emotional rollercoaster featuring fan-favourite characters from the series as they explore new areas throughout the sprawling space station. It’s been described as a ‘final send-off for Commander Shepard.’

Due out on March 5, Citadel will set you back $14.99 for PlayStation 3 and PC, and 1200 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360.

In addition, developer BioWare has also announced that a fresh batch of multiplayer DLC, titled Reckoning, will launch on February 26. This will feature a host of new goodies, such as maps, character kits, weapons and upgrades.

Said Casey Hudson, Mass Effect series producer:  "The team has poured heart and soul into Mass Effect 3: Reckoning and Mass Effect 3: Citadel. As the launch of these chapters near, the feeling around the studio is bittersweet.”

"We have always been humbled and driven by the passion of our fans for the Mass Effect trilogy. We hope fans will enjoy spending more time with some of their favourite characters -- we have certainly enjoyed spending time creating them. We're excited to release this final send-off for the trilogy and move forward into the future of the Mass Effect universe."

Mass Effect 4 is in the early stages of development, and will be powered by EA’s Frostbite engine. BioWare recently quizzed fans whether the game should be a sequel or a prequel to the current trilogy.
