Namco Bandai Games America has announced that Armored Core: Verdict Day will land on North American shores this upcoming summer for the PlayStation 3.
Developed by FromSoftware, Verdict Day is the latest entry in the Armored Core mech franchise and a direct continuation of Armored Core V. Players will even be able to transfer their save files from ACV to Verdict Day to further customize their Armored Core mechs with new parts and weapons. The Operator Mode, which allows commanding up to 20 mechs from a top-down view, makes a return in Verdict Day as well.
Multiplayer and single player campaign modes are included. The story finds the world "thrown into chaos" with "important natural resources needed for the survival of competing factions" that are "scavenged and fought across the world with deadly Armored Core mechs."
Stay tuned to PSU for additional news on the future of Armored Core.

@1 Trust me mate its not worth it, AC:V was a very poor attempt at the franchise IMHO. The single player campaign was very poor, the story didn't even really make much sense, and jumped all over the place. The fact that it basically required continuous online connection was annoying and logging in would take up to 10min. The multiplayer features were kinda cool but the main issue was that even 2 weeks after release there was no one online anymore....which made the main focus of the game rather pointless (there are alot of features you can only access if there are other people in your company to play with).
Honestly i'd skip AC:V and just give Verdict Day a go when it releases. Although if you want it just for collecting purposes go ahead, i just recommend never putting the disc into your console. -

ACV was a huge disappointment. Everything about it was just lackluster. Not sure if I'm going to pick this one up, I'll have to see what the AC fanbase thinks.
