PS4 supports cross-game chat

As if what the PlayStation 4 can do doesn't excite gamers enough already, another major feature that has been demanded by PS3 users for years is now officially coming to PS4: cross game chat.
The news comes from an official press release from Sony mentioning, "PS4 also enhances social spectating by enabling gamers to broadcast their gameplay in real-time to friends using live internet streaming services such as Ustream. During live broadcasts, friends can make comments on the streamed gameplay and, if a gamer gets stuck on a challenging level, friends can also join the game in completely new ways. For example, friends can offer health potions or special weapons when a player needs them most during actual gameplay.
Furthermore, users can connect their Facebook account with Sony Entertainment Network account. Through PS4, users are able to deepen their connections through co-op play or 'cross-game chat'."
At the moment, the PS3 does not support cross game chat, but the PlayStation Vita does, so it really isn't shocking to hear (especially with 8GB of RAM) that the PS4 is capable of such a feature.

@6 Cool story, bro. But nobody here cares about your PC that your parents bought you. I suggest you shove off and go on the BF3 forums, where you can hang out with all of the other PC elitists.

Yeah, I wonder how much that cross chat is going to cost you guys, good luck with that. Also I can imagine a lot of developers will forgo the option to hand out health packs like that in most games, as it would likely cause a game imbalance issue making a game too easy for people with "enough friends".

Now that cross-game chat has been put to bed, we need two other things. Confirmation of custom soundtracks across all games for one. The other is a personal peeve of mine. When PS3 first came out you could play music vids (or any kind of video for that matter) off your hdd and then press the PS Button and it would keep on playing while you looked for what you wanted to play next. Now the video just freezes and you can still scroll up and down looking for something else. Would be good to go back to the way that was.
