Rumor: PS Vita getting new Assassin's Creed this year

Ubisoft will release a new instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise for PlayStation Vita this year, reports VGLeaks.

The French publishing giant announced earlier today that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be coming to consoles and PC in 2013. However, VGLeaks stated, “this year we’ll see two AC games, that’s for sure,” adding, “bet for a Vita one in 2013.”

Last year’s Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation for PS Vita sold 600,000 units worldwide, and Ubisoft was reportedly chuffed with its performance. As such, it isn’t difficult to imagine the company would want to release further games in the series for Sony’s high-powered handheld.

Furthermore, Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, said last week that the firm is still very much behind PS Vita, commenting: “I cannot announce anything, but it’s coming. The Vita is not dead for us.”

Stay tuned.

AC on Vita was a good 1st attempt, not perfect but not bad, now if they can make the story more fleshed out like the console games and tweak the engine and game a little, it will be a great game.

I enjoyed Liberation, just a shame they didn't give the plot more detail, it felt a bit rushed compared to the other games.
