GameStop: PS4 'showing strong demand'

The reaction following Sony's PlayStation 4 announcement is positive so far, and solid numbers are coming out to prove it. GameStop has reported that the PS4 is "showing strong demand" in just under a month since the console's unveiling.
In a statement, GameStop president Tony Bartel said, “With only a glance at the PS4, gamers are excited and eager to know more. Within just a few weeks, more than 600,000 people have signed up [for the First to Know list], showing strong demand for this new console.”
GameStop's First to Know list does not guarantee a system, but will alert subscribers when pre-orders open. The PS4 is set to launch this upcoming holiday season, but a price and release date have not been announced. 16 million PS4s are reportedly going to be available at launch.

"Well basically we put you on this list where we tell you when you are able to preorder as soon as you are able to, which gives you the chance to be among the first to grab the console when it comes out."

not surprising but the game i asked for was tomb raider or i preordered injustice gods among us, im goiing to use the holidays as an excuse to take off to go get my ps4, i know thanksgiving will be at my house :) thank god my moms allgeric to cats lol

All 3 consoles this gen had strong demand before they launched. Wii-U broke that trend. PS4 and Xbox 720 will likely sell out at launch.
