Konami today announced that the DLC Virtual Reality Missions for Metal Gear Rising is available now for PlayStation 3, free for a limited time. The DLC adds 30 all-new missions, featuring the classic VR look inspired by the original Metal Gear Solid VR Missions. The gameplay pack introduces a host of unique new challenges to push Raiden's skills to the limits.

Two additional DLC packs will be available starting this April. The first pack, Jetstream, is a side story featuring Sam as a playable character. The second pack, Blade Wolf, allows players to control Blade Wolf and will showcase his side story. Both packs feature multiple hours of gameplay including unique abilities and characteristics for each character, while also expanding on each of their storylines and origins.

Both packs will be available in April for $6.99 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

For a "limited time"? Companies are just taking the piss now. There's no reason this either shouldn't be a) already have been on the disc or b) free forever (if they weren't able to include on disc but were close to finishing)....

But it's not for free... It's for like 3.5 $ in my country. :/

It's exclusive DLC Sure some of it is on the disk, it's not like any of the assets they're using in VR missions are new seeing as there's more than a dozen of them already in the game, But the additional content is likely been arranged (paid) for by sony. The new missions are likely what both PS3 and 360 will get later and likely feature voice acting and animation not found in the main game.
