Electronic Arts has confirmed that Tiger Woods PGA Tour on PS4 will feature more social functionality, better physics and will "push graphically the game in new areas".
Speaking with Digital Spy, Executive producer Brent Nielsen spoke about how the processing power and enhanced memory of Sony’s new console will enable it to integrate more features.
"One of the big things we'll be able to continue to push - in addition to graphics and physics as we'll have more memory, more processing power and things we can do to make it more realistic - is really push the social aspect of it," he explained.
"It looks like they'll be giving us tools to be able to do that, so things like the chats, the Connected Tournaments and the arcs [seen in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14], just continuing to try and push people, because golf by nature is a social sport."
Nielson also mentioned that EA is looking into how the touchpad of the new controller could be used in the game, though didn’t go into specifics.
The latest game in the series, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 launches on March 26th and includes 20 championship courses, the option to tackle historic courses and the ability to compete in a new LPGA stars career mode for the first time.
The PS4 is set to launch later this year, though a release date has yet to be confirmed.
