Rumor: Final Fantasy XV will be a PS4 exclusive

Sony and Square Enix are co-developing the next installment in the legendary (though recently maligned) Final Fantasy series: Final Fantasy XV, formerly Versus XIII. The rumor comes courtesy of VGLeaks.
No source or credibility is offered, so this rumor should be taken with a massive grain of salt. However, recent events lend credence to VGLeaks' report. Most notably, during Sony's PS4 reveal conference, Square Enix revealed that a new Final Fantasy game will be unveiled at E3. Furthermore, a recent website spotting indicates that the oft-delayed Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which made its formal debut in 2007, has been renamed to Final Fantasy XV and is undergoing design changes befitting of a main series installment.
The most uncertain information here is whether Final Fantasy XV (or whatever its called) will, in fact, be a PS4 exclusive. Historically, numbered-entry Final Fantasy games have favored Sony systems. Final Fantasy XI, XIII, and XIII-2 bucked the trend by also releasing on Xbox 360, but the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV reboot will make PS3 its console home.
What do you think? Tell us where Final Fantasy XV will end up in the comments below, and stay glued to PSU.com for the latest Final Fantasy news, including today's announcement of Final Fantasy X-2 HD.

I think you guys are missing the main point of this article and that is that it also might not be available for ps3. Which sorta sucks but I cant complain. Im pretty sure both this and Last Guardian were made ps4 exclusives. A smarter move in my opinion. Im sure Team Ico doesnt want to repeat the same mistake it made with SOTC by releasing it at the end of a console gen and missing out on an opportunity to optimize the game.

at this point there's so many rumors and conjecture being tossed about that it's impossible to know any more exactly what will happen. Frankly I think this could be the new strategy for leaked information: release so many different versions of the truth that no one knows anything other than there's a game comming and it might be playable at some point int he near future.
It's not even worth speculating about it anymore without some facts either it'll be on PS3, PS4 or both.

I've never played a FF game and most likely never will, yet this still excites me because it's a major exclusive for Sony. I am such a fanboy.

@9 there isn't exactly "15" of you count all the other games involved as well. It's not exactly a series. Each one is completely different except for ones like X-2 and all the FFXIII "crap" releases. Each one is a whole different story with different characters and setting. They've gone downhill this whole gen though :/
EDIT:: @Alpha, I agree
