You’d think hosting the PlayStation Indie Arcade event at GDC 2013 and showing off no less than 28 indie titles would be enough to prove Sony’s faith in the little guy, but the conviction keeps on coming. Later this month, Sony will appear at the Full Indie Summit in Vancouver, CA to share tips with indie developers on publishing their games and to outline how streamlined the process has become.
Sony’s commitment to fostering small-time talent is appropriate for the Full Indie Summit, which seems to epitomize the indie spirit in its limited scale. The Rio Theatre (a 400-seat venue) will host talks by at least six developers, including Jake Kazdal of Space Channel 5 fame and Bioware Audio Designer Joel Green, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 20. More speakers and a detailed schedule will be announced soon.
Credit for event organization goes to Retro City Rampage creator Brian Provinciano, who has recently praised Sony for its open ecosystem and PS Vita’s ease of development.
