PS4 leaked: a well-produced fake, or the real deal? You decide [UPDATED]

UPDATE: Sony has confirmed that this video is fake, which isn’t the least bit surprising. From dependence on readily available images to poor acting, there was almost nothing of merit to suggest this trailer was anything but a visually compelling fake. Nevertheless, it’s fun to watch, so take a peep and leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Original: Moments ago, Netherlands-based website PSX-Sense posted a supposed leaked teaser trailer for the PlayStation 4.

There are at least three reasons to take this with a massive grain of salt. 1) No source, except for an anonymous tipster, is provided. 2) The video link was sent directly to our email inbox by PSX-Sense founder Roy Wijkstra, which suggests solicitation for hits. 3) The trailer, while admittedly very well-produced, doesn’t fit any of Sony’s 2013 marketing efforts. The expected visual style and messaging is abandoned for something utterly different, and a conspicuous lack of logos and fine print leaves the video’s legitimacy in question.

Nevertheless, we love PlayStation and want to hear your opinion. Is this the real PlayStation 4? Is it simply a professional ruse? Watch the video below, and give us your thoughts in the comments.
