Critically acclaimed indie title Guacamelee! has been met with nothing short of praise since its release in April and grabbed the number one spot on PlayStation Network and PlayStation Vita last month. Those who couldn’t get enough of the brilliant platformer will be happy to hear that DrinkBox Studios isn’t done yet.
Recently, IGN spoke with studio co-founder, Graham Smith, on what plans the developer had for the future of their beloved game. Smith revealed that the studio currently is in the ‘design phase’ for Guacamelee! downloadable content and that more information will be released over the next few days.
Smith was also asked if DrinkBox Studios will respond to Gucamelee!’s success with a second entry in the franchise:
“I don’t know yet. It’s something that we talk about. We’re talking about what our next new IP is going to be, so we haven’t really decided on that yet. But one of the things as part of that conversation is the possibility of doing a sequel. But we haven’t really made any decisions either way with that.”
Are you excited to spend more time with the lovable luchador? Do you want to see a sequel happen or should DrinkBox focus their efforts elsewhere?
