Sony confirms no plans for new PlayStation All-Stars DLC

Sony has poured cold water over any hopes of seeing additional downloadable content for beat-‘em-up PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

"Thank you for your continued support of PlayStation All-Stars and for keeping the community thriving. At this time we have no plans to release new content for PlayStation All-Stars," said a representative for Sony (via Polygon).

"While we considered many characters during development and even created concept art for a number of characters and environments that were being explored during the game’s development phase, including Dart, we were not able to incorporate all of them into the final game. We will continue to be committed to supporting the PlayStation All-Stars online community through online match-making and will ensure server stability."

The comments come following an alleged leak of a planned PlayStation All-Stars stage featuring elements from both Journey and Gravity Rush. The images were uploaded over the weekend by Ky Bui, a designer who worked on both Battle Royale and Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse, but were quickly removed.

Naturally this quickly prompted speculation that the game was to receive extra DLC, though this now appears not to be the case.

The developer behind Battle Royale, SuperBot Entertainment, cut ties with Sony Computer Entertainment earlier this year and is now working on a fresh IP.
