PlayStation 4 pre-orders placed after August 6 in the U.K. will no longer be guaranteed to arrive in consumers’ hands on launch day, Sony had said.
The hardware manufacturer advised several retailers on the issue, including Amazon and ShopTo, via a statement this week (via Eurogamer). The latter posted it on their official website, which can be seen below:
“Sony have confirmed all PlayStation 4 pre-orders placed from 6th August will now not be guaranteed for launch. You can still pre-order PS4 with us in case we receive cancellations and can fulfil your order for launch.”
“Please note – due to high demand, orders placed for the PlayStation 4 console from 6th August may be received after release date. We will ship orders as soon as we receive sufficient inventory,” added Amazon.
Have you got your pre-orders in yet? If not, have a look at our pre-order guide, although be warned now that you’ll likely receive your console after release date given the recent developments.
PS4 will be released in November priced $399/£349.
