PS3 to PS4 Battlefield 4 multiplayer profile transfer confirmed

Not to be outdone by Activision’s announcement of cross-gen compatibility for Call of Duty: Ghosts, EA has today announced that customers who play Battlefield 4 on PS3 will be able to take their multiplayer progress and stats to PlayStation 4.

The announcement was made on Twitter, and the link in the tweet shows what can transfer over:

The picture tells us that everything, including your Battlefield Premium subscription, will function normally whether you play on PS3 or PS4. This is good because it allows a seamless transition from current consoles to next-gen hardware, and it’s good to see EA not charge for Battlefield Premium twice. I wouldn’t have been surprised at that outcome.

Also worth pointing out is that this is a one-time transfer, so if you upgrade from PS3 to PS4 and decide to play on PS3 again for some reason, then you won’t be able to transfer all of your Battlefield 4 content back.
