PS4 Yakuza title teased by SEGA?

Yakuza: Restoration has been officially announced by SEGA, potentially giving us our first glimpse at the series’ entry on PlayStation 4.

Details on the mysterious project, including platform(s) and release date have yet to be unveiled, though for now the game appears to be a Japanese-exclusive.

Still, SEGA did tease the game’s protagonist, named Ryoma Sakamoto, who you can see below looking rather moody.

The Yakuza franchise kicked off in 2005 on PlayStation 2, and has remained exclusive to PlayStation platforms up until the high-definition re-release of Yakuza 1 & 2 for Wii U earlier this month.

The core series has seen five entries to date, with Yakuza 5 still a Japanese-exclusive. However, SEGA has made an effort to localise every title up until and including Yakuza: Dead Souls, which is a spin-off title released in 2012.

Other games include the PlayStation Portable Black Panther spin-offs, as well as the Japan-only Yakuza: Kenzan!
