Highest retail price for a PS4 is $1200

Spare a thought for Argentina-based PlayStation gamers who will need to shell out a whopping $1200 to get their hands on a PS4 at launch.

Inflation rates in the South American country have rocketed in recent years which has also caused tourism to drop significantly. Via NeoGaf, member Manu uncovered the official Sony announcement in Argentina which reads:

This puts the PS4 price at approximately 6500 pesos, which translates to around $1200. Ouch.

Thankfully, North American gamers will be able to pick up a PS4 for approximately $399, while U.K. residents can bag one for £349 when the console launches in November.
