PS4 overheats, gets ‘Red Line of Death’ — see it here

Early Xbox 360 models suffered from the ubiquitous ‘Red Light of Death,’ PlayStation 3 received the occasional ‘Yellow Light of Death,’ and now PlayStation 4 appears to have fallen victim to its own unique brand of hardware error — the ‘Red Line of Death.’

That’s according to a recent snapshot of Sony’s next-generation system (via Videogame scene) on display at a Spanish event.

The report reads (via a translation), “it had a red light (where the typical blue LED light) and had a message on the screen saying that the console had a very high temperature. The security case was opened and in two seconds the error message was removed and the light had returned to its normal color.”

Still, the proof is in the pudding, so here’s the shot of the PS4 overheating below. Note that this should hardly be a surprise considering the console is stuffed inside a plastic case with little to no ventilation ports — hence why it went back to normal after it was opened.
