A weird bit of news has come from PlayStation Japan in the form of a video teasing a PocketStation–yes, PocketStation–announcement on November 5.
The PocketStation was a Japan-exclusive memory card (with a screen) released in 1999 for the original PlayStation. For now, we have no idea what PlayStation Japan is teasing–a PS4 peripheral that revives the nostalgic name? A mobile app for storing and transporting PS4 save files? A PS4 that fits in your pocket?!?
Probably not, but we’ll find out this coming Tuesday. For now, rest assured that Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has "endorsed" the tease by tweeting a link to the Famitsu article about it. So, a legitimate PocketStation announcement is coming on November 5.
Any guesses? Drop a comment below and tell us what you think (or hope).
