PlayStation 4 hit one million units sold in the first 24 hours of release.
Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, excitedly tweeted today: "PS4 has sold through over 1 million units within 24 hours of the launch in North America!!!"
John Koller, Head of Hardware Marketing for PlayStation, says the same: "1M PS4s sold through in first 24 hours! Thanks to gamers everywhere – Greatness Awaits!"
Adam Boyes, with PlayStation Publisher & Developer Relations, adds: "Thanks to all of you gamers in getting us to 1,000,000 sales of #PS4 in our first 24 hours!"
In a single day, the sales of PS4 are already over a quarter of the Wii U’s total sales (as of October 30). The Wii U was first released on November 18, 2012.
PS4’s next release date is November 29 in Australia, Brazil, and Europe.
