PSN features locked for PS4 Europe launch

The PlayStation Network will be under strain today due to high traffic caused by thousands of users receiving their PlayStation 4 consoles. Consequently, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has decided to temporarily switch a couple of features off on day one.

The announcement of the temporary disabling of two PSN features came from Fred Dutton, manager of SCEE’s PlayStation Blog. The features in question are ‘What’s New’, which allows you to "discover and engage with all of your friends’ PS4 related activity" and the Content Information Screen, where you can "See friends’ activity and information specific to the title you are looking at." It is intended for the features to be switched on a few days after launch.
