Farm 51 – the Polish developers of titles such as Deadfall Adventures and Painkiller: Hell & Damnation – has today announced its latest project: Get Even, alongside a moody debut trailer.
The PS4 shooter – scheduled for released in 2015 – incorporates a real-world scanner, which is used to create varied and expansive game environments. ‘’This 3D scanning technology combines with advanced lighting effects to create a stunning and believe world that pushes the boundaries of the genre," a press release reads.
Get Even also goes a long way in blurring the ever-receding line between single and multiplayer content by creating two-linked stories; the routes players take determines their respective personalities in the game, too. To exemplify this, within single-player, it’s never quite known whether or not the enemies you’re facing are CPU-based or indeed real people.
Wojtek Pazdur, CEO of The Farm 51, says: “As an independent developer, it would be foolish to go head-to-head with the larger companies and create a ‘me too’ knock-off, and frankly we wouldn’t be interested in doing it. We believe that there is still a ton of content and design creativity that has yet to be explored in first-person genre, as well as an audience beyond the warfare player — those are the people we are going for with Get Even.”
Get Even is still a way off, but the ambition shown by developer Farm 51 is clear for all to see. The game looks set for digital distribution, with disc-based versions unconfirmed at the present time. Check out the trailer below.
