In a dash of news that will perhaps surprise many, it has today emerged that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the prologue to the fully-fledged sequel, The Phantom Pain, will have a runtime of roughly two hours.

The folks over at Kotaku have got their hands on the newest copy of Game Informer, which houses a comprehensive 20-page spread of the newest Metal Gear iteration - and it doesn’t make for pretty reading.

"Judged just by the core story mission, Ground Zeroes is short – we completed it in just less than two hours,’’ writes the magazine in its latest issue. (Only available in print).

This of course excludes all side missions and whatever extras are set to be included, but will nonetheless prove to be a divisive subject for gamers right across the board, especially considering next-gen disc-based versions of the teaser will set you back $40.

Check out the full preview in the latest issue of Game Informer.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes launches on March 18 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. And as ever, give us your thoughts below.
