Nippon Ichi announces Firefly's Diary for PlayStation Vita

According to Siliconera, Nippon Ichi Software has announced a new PlayStation Vita title called htoL#NiQ, which is an anagram for Hotaru no Nikki or Firefly’s Diary.

The studio launched a teaser website earlier this year that encouraged you to hover your firefly cursor over hidden letters scattered throughout the darkness of the page.

Details were unveiled by the likes of the Japanese press, revealing that players control a firefly who's purpose is to usher a horned girl by the name of Mion through a mysterious, shadowy world. The game will feature action and puzzle elements that will pit you against the darkness, avoiding the many enemies lurking in the shadows. You can also control Shadow Fireflies -- these guys will allow you to navigate the game's many puzzles.

Firefly's Diary is scheduled to release exclusively in Japan on June 19, 2014 for the PS Vita. Western localization has not been confirmed.
