Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment North American release to include HD version of Infinity Moment

The upcoming North American release of Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment for the PlayStation Vita just got sweeter. Bandai Namco Games America announced it will also come with the HD version of the previous game, Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment.

Infinity Moment was originally a PlayStation Portable game only released in Japan and takes place in an alternate universe that differs from the main canon seen in the original novels by Reki Kawahara and anime adaptation. Hollow Fragment released in Japan last week and is the sequel to the story set in motion in Infinity Moment.

Last week, Bandai Namco America revealed SAO: Hollow Fragment would be localized for North America and see a digital-only release sometime this summer.

Sword Art Online’s premise follows players who become trapped in a MMORPG who will die in real life if they die in the virtual world and can only escape alive by finishing the game. The popular 2012 anime adaptation aired on Cartoon Network’s Toonami block and is streaming on Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll. A new second series set to debut in July will be streamed worldwide.
