Sony makes changes to PlayStation Plus service

Sony today announced changes to its system of bringing games into and out of the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection.

In the past, games stayed in the collection for an arbitrary and undetermined amount of time. Starting in July, Sony will adopt a structured schedule for arrivals and departures. New additions to the Instant Game collection will be available from the first Tuesday of the current month until the first Tuesday of the following month.

Now that the time available to grab these games is set for each month, Sony also announced that there would be two games available each month for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita.

Sony also mentioned on the PlayStation Blog that many long-standing titles on the Instant Game Collection will gradually be removed over the next few weeks.

As always, once the game is added to your own collection, it is yours as long as you remain a PlayStation Plus subscriber.
