E3 2014 Award: Best Fighting Game

When it comes to the fighting game genre, most people are awed by the fluid motions of the fighters as they dish out punishment to each other. Those in the fighting community look for a game that not only looks great, but also has fluid combos and responsive input. Guilty Gear has consistently been the very best of the technical elite. That, plus gorgeous faux three-dimensional art, is why we have chosen Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- as our Best Fighting Game of E3 2014.

With a history of 15 years on consoles, starting on the original PlayStation, Arc Systems has given us the most impressive fighting game at E3. From a combination of beautifully rendered 3D sprites to the fluid motions of combos that demand absolute precision and perfect timing for endless strings of complicated moves, this is a fighting game well-worth mastering. Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will also be the first full-fledged fighter to make it onto PlayStation 4, but PS3 gamers won’t be left in the cold when the latest in Arc’s series of technically advanced fighters launches this summer.
