E3 2014 Awards: Best Multiplayer

In terms of an ambitious, MMO-esque experience there’s little competition when it comes to Destiny - and this year’s E3 only served to solidify the Bungie-developed shooter’s position as the most engaging and downright exciting multiplayer title around.

First announced way back in 2011, Bungie’s bold project has gone from strength to strength, harnessing the considerable power of the PlayStation 4 and building upon the pronounced first-person shooter blocks set by Bungie’s previous series, Halo.

With the release date of September 9 creeping ever closer, the wait for one of gaming’s most exciting new IPs is almost over – and luckily it’s a game that undoubtedly has the unique potential to tide us over for longer than the actual wait for September 9. A visionary undertaking, Destiny has the indisputable potential to be 2014’s best multiplayer shooter.
