Despite current rumours suggesting otherwise, participants in the recent Destiny Alpha phase will NOT automatically receive a code for Destiny’s beta phase, which kicks off on PS4 on July 14, 2014. Activision confirmed the news to PSU and says that the only way to obtain a code will be by pre-ordering a copy of Destiny from participating retailers.
Those who pre-ordered the game via PSN will receive their codes via email and direct message nearer the date of launch. We’re sure they’ll be some gaming websites giving away codes, but for now the only way to get a beta code is to pre-order the game. Click here for more details.
Destiny launches on September 9, 2014 on PS3, Xbox 360, PS4 and Xbox One. PSU.com has recently been enjoying the Destiny Alpha phase which gave players a look at the game’s main social hub, The Tower, some co-op story missions and The Crucible multiplayer arena.
Exclusive content for PS3 and PS4 owners was recently revealed, including extra maps, modes and weapons that won’t appear on Xbox 360 and Xbox One until Fall 2015.
