For August 2011, we decided to put a spin on our regular Game of the Month series by giving our community the opportunity to tell us what title they feel deserved the accolade. Needless to say, we were blown away by the amount of feedback we received, so first of all we would like to thank everyone that voted — you guys are the best!
Now, on to your pick of the month, and by overwhelming demand we are proud to crown Deus Ex: Human Revolution as Game of the Month for August 2011. Of course, this probably won’t come as a surprise to many, considering we’ve been suffering from something of a software draught for much of the summer. As such, Eidos Montreal’s critically-lauded action-RPG has arrived just in time to reinvigorate the industry ahead of the mammoth fall/winter season. Indeed, it only gets better from here on out, folks.
Nonetheless, there were still a couple of decent offerings on offer beyond Deus Ex: Human Revolution that we feel deserve a mention, including Madden NFL 12, Driver: San Francisco and the retro-fused Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection. Still, it’s clear you folks were far too busy creeping around industrial complexes and playing about with high-tech gadgets as Adam Jensen to worry about what else was competing for your hard-earn cash.
