PlayStation gamers have reason to be excited during the first week of December. Not only is Sony celebrating its 20th anniversary in the console business—complete with a swanky, limited edition PS4 that mimics the design of the PSOne—but it’s also hosting a special PlayStation Experience event this weekend, where attendees will be getting a butcher’s at some of the hottest titles of 2015. Oh, and there’s the Game Awards 2014 too, which contains its own smorgasbord of PlayStation treats.
Let’s focus on the PlayStation Experience, though. We already know that gamers will be treated to fresh looks at Bloodborne, The Order: 1886, and many more upcoming PS4 heavy hitters, but what about the games that are being kept underwraps? Sony has already promised some surprises for the event, and rumors have already started rippling through the Internet on what we can expect.
So, in the spirit of all things PlayStation, we decided to cobble together five games we can only dream of seeing at the PS Experience. After all, there’s no harm in wishing, right?

A German games publication has already indicated Uncharted 4 will be playable at Sony’s celebratory gaming bash, and we couldn’t think of a better candidate to kick off our wishlist. Nathan Drake’s upcoming treasure-hunting romp remains one of, if not the, most anticipated PS4 game on the horizon, and has already floored jaws with its lush real-time trailer back at E3 2014. Given that most Uncharted games are either announced or demoed in December (VGAs had this honor previously), it would make sense to see Uncharted 4 put in an appearance, at least in trailer form. Given the nature of the event, we couldn’t think of a better treat for loyal PS gamers than for Sony to give them a gander at what is undoubtedly going to be a hot contender for 2015 Game of the Year.
The Caped Crusader’s latest outing looks to be his best yet, and the fact it’s still a long way off—having been delayed until June 2015—means we’re surely due another sneak peak? Warner Bros. has been keen on releasing PS4 gameplay footage up until now, so what better time to celebrate The Dark Knight’s latest PlayStation adventure than at the PS Experience? There’s still plenty about the game we don’t know yet, and a hands-on would be a perfect opportunity to see how Bats’ latest open-world adventure is shaping up. Perhaps Rocksteady could give us a peek at some of the Batmobile’s various functionalities? Or maybe a look at Batman’s new gadgets? Make it happen, folks.
Quantic Dream has been pretty quiet this year regarding its next PlayStation-related project, and all we’ve seen up until now has been a tech demo titled The Dark Sorcerer. The sumptuous demo was shown off last at E3 2013, so it’s about time we got an update on the project—and what better place than the PlayStation Experience? We’re not expecting David Cage to cobble together a playable build of his next game, but another visually-striking video would be a right treat for PlayStation aficionados, and offer a glimpse at how Quantic Dream is progressing with PS4 hardware after all this time.
RATCHET & CLANK
The dynamic duo have been part of the PlayStation DNA for over a decade now, and while developer Insomniac Games has gone down the multiplatform route as of late, it’scommitted to providing a PS4-exclusive in this revamp of the original Ratchet & Clank. Due to coincide with the release of the upcoming CG movie of the same name, we’ve seen nothing on Ratchet & Clank’s PS4 debut at the time of writing, and the PS Experience would be the best time to give us a glimpse—in playable or trailer form—for the first time. Expect lush environments, new abilities, innovative weapons, and seamless platforming sections. Last but not least, with the game supposedly due out in the first half of 2015, it surely can’t be that far off from its first public viewing?
GOD OF WAR PS4
Okay, this is perhaps a bit of a stretch, but we can dream, right? Sony Santa Monica is known to be chiselling away on a new PlayStation title, and after it was forced to cancel a new science-fiction IP earlier this year, who’s to say it hasn’t decided to revisit Kratos or an entirely new mythology for another God of War installment? The spine-shattering, monster-slaying franchise is among the most successful of PlayStation’s exclusive catalogue, so there’s absolutely no doubt in our minds that God of War will make a comeback, and the PS Experience would at least provide a perfect platform from which to confirm its return for another console cycle. Fingers crossed for a game based on Norse mythology.
