E3 2015 is over for another year, and what a show it’s been. As we pack our bags and head back home we’re left with a tough decision: which games deserve our coveted awards this year?
Winner: Horizon Zero Dawn
Guerilla Games action role-playing PlayStation 4 exclusive blew us away at E3 2015. We know that the studio can already create brilliant shooter experiences (as proved by the Killzone series) which is one reason why we can’t wait to battle against collosal robo-dinosaurs, but it’s also the gameworld, narrative and RPG elements that have us totally intrigued.
Killzone Shadow Fall proves that Guerilla can already create stunning looking games on PS4, and with its expertise we’ve no doubt that Horizon Zero Dawn is going to look even better: the stunning vistas and attention to detail in the official trailer certainly fills us with confidence. The gameplay demo showcased some explosive action as temale protaganist, Aloy, goes on the hunt for robo-dinosaurs, using both aggression and stealth to bag the kills. The design of these beasts is stunning, as is the animation as they stomp and flee through the undergrowth.
Horizon Zero Dawn was one of the most exciting-looking games at E3 2015. It’s great to see Guerilla step into a new realm away from first-person shooters with a more open-world RPG approach, and its latest game looks to combine compelling story-telling, a great game world and action-packed gameplay into one stunning package. Explosive, compelling and uttery gorgeous, we can’t wait to see more of Horizon Zero Dawn later this year.
