E3 2015 Awards: Best Indie Game

E3 2015 is over for another year, and what a show it’s been. As we pack our bags and head back home we’re left with a tough decision: which games deserve our coveted awards this year?

Winner – Abzu

With so many great indie titles at E3 this was a tough category, but Giant Squid’s first PS4 project Abzu is a worthy winner.  In the same way that Journey captured our hearts, Abzu has a similar feel, taking players on an ambient, underwater journey that captures the imagination with its dream-like audio and impressive design.

There’s an air of mystery and intrigue about Abzu which adds to its allure as you explore the environment. In our hands-on video impressions of Abzu, the word "soothing" was used quite a few times as its melodic pace and eye-catching artwork makes you feel like you’re floating on cloud nine. It’s clear that Abzu is preparing to deliver an emotional experience that connects with players and draws them into the game world. If you enjoyed Journey, you simply won’t want to miss Abzu.

Honourable Mention: Mother Russia Bleeds
