When PlayStation owners think of companies that have had significant plans for their online department, it's easy to discuss developers like Criterion, Incog Inc and Capcom. However, what about Ubisoft? While their contribution to downloadable content has been relatively mild so far, the company is looking to broaden that horizon with Prince of Persia and a potentially strong 2009 lineup.

Speaking with Edge Online, CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemont, gave a slight look into the companies plans for 2009.

"We plan to launch at least two products, so I can't say yet what the impact of that will be,” he said. “But we expect to make big launches on those two games. I don't think it will be huge, but it will be the start of a new trend that will accelerate later."

With the recent acquisition of Massive Entertainment, it's a good indication that the developer is looking to take the right steps in the online world.

Stay tuned for more information as it breaks.
