UK publication PSM3 has lobbed more coal into the Modern Warfare 3 hype train this week, with the mag’s latest issue claiming official confirmation of the much-anticipated military shooter will drop next month.
Specifically, the magazine (via CVG) states that “the next in Activision’s megaton FPS series will be announced in mid-April.”
Previous reports on Modern Warfare 3 have pointed to a prequel, with OPM UK rumouring the shooter will centre on fan-favourite cockney grunt, Ghost.
However, PSM3 speculates that MW3 will be a full-fledged sequel, writing, "Based on the ending of MW2, we’d be surprised if the story doesn’t pick up with Soap and Price on the run, after they were set up by General Shepard."
Whatever it turns out to be, it’ll be sure in for a bumpy ride with heavy competition from the likes of EA’s Battlefield 3 gunning for the 2011 FPS crown.
