City Interactive has confirmed it’s working on a new World War II FPS by the name of Enemy Front.
The title is being developed with Stuart Black – formally of Codemasters – as lead designer, and will take advantage of the CryEngine 3.
As previously mentioned the game is set in WWII, and sees players hopping into the boots of a soldier positioned behind enemy lines. Here, gamers are tasked with completing “dynamic, diversified missions ranging from quick skirmishes, espionage assignments, and sabotage activities.”
The storyline will span several years and features key historical moments, including a mission in Wolf’s Lair as well as actions surrounding the deciphering of the Enigma Code. Iconic battles from France to Berlin will also crop up, with the action eventually taking you to a secret base where a “terrifying weapon that will all but assure a global Nazi victory” must be neutralized.
Enemy Front ships in 2012 for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360. Stay tuned for more info as we get it.
