Last year Sony polled PlayStation Network members on which games they would want an impending discount on by making us download XMB themes for each game we chose in their respective categories. This resulted in a price-cut for Castle Crashers, God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PSP), Dead Nation, and more. It’s a nice touch seeing as every game that gets nominated is usually critically-acclaimed.
This year Sony is continuing the ‘PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards’ trend and even upping the ante by adding more categories – meaning more games to vote on. Voting starts with tomorrow’s PlayStation Network update; users will have to download a XMB theme of each game they vote for, in their respective categories. The winners of this year’s categories will be announced next week via the PlayStation Blog.
The winning game in each category will receive a 30% discount (50% for PlayStation Plus members). Take a look at the nominees below.
