Final Fantasy comes to life in worldwide music tour

Square Enix and AWR Music Productions have announced that in honor of Final Fantasy's 20th anniversary, there will be a worldwide traveling concert series entitled "Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantasy."

Featuring the music of Japanese video game composer Nobuo Uematsu and conducted by Grammy award-winner Arnie Roth, this spectacular concert series will travel around the world premiering December 4, 2007 in Stockholm, Sweden.

During the showing, Final Fantasy videos, art, and stills will be displayed on massive screens to highlight the games most memorable sequences and thrilling moments.

Nobuo Uematsu is known for composing music for such video game titles as:

- Final Fantasy 1-13 (FF XIII he is working with Masashi Hamauzu)
- Chrono Trigger
- Blue Dragon
- Lost Odyssey
- Cry On

According to the official website, the first state side showing will happen in Chicago on March 1, 2008 in the Rosemont Theatre.

Here is the rough draft of the program (not in performance order, subject to change)

- Final Fantasy series: Main Theme, Swing de Chocobo
- Final Fantasy I-III: Medley
- Final Fantasy III DS: Opening
- Final Fantasy IV: Theme of Love
- Final Fantasy V: Dear Friends
- Final Fantasy VI: Opera "Maria and Draco"
- Final Fantasy VII: One-Winged Angel, Opening - Bombing Mission, Aerith's Theme
- Final Fantasy VIII: Liberi Fatali, Fisherman's Horizon, Love Grows, Don't be Afraid
- Final Fantasy IX: Vamo' Alla Flamenco
- Final Fantasy X: To Zanarkand
- Final Fantasy XI: Memoro de la Stono - Distant Worlds
