Gamescom 2012: 007 Legends gets a Licence to Kill

Activision has confirmed a further two classic James Bond films for its upcoming spy adventure 007 Legends – Die Another Day and Licence to Kill.

Essentially this means five James Bond eras are represented in the game thus far: Roger Moore (Moonraker), George Lazenby (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service), Timothy Dalton (Licence to Kill), Pierce Brosnan (Die Another Day) and Daniel Craig (Skyfall).

Presumably the Connery era will be the last to be represented, as we can’t imagine the likes of Dr. No or Goldfinger not making an appearance – can you?

007 Legends’ take on Die Another Day sees the Bond teaming up with Agent Jinx to ascertain any possible connection between a North Korean terrorist and adrenaline junkie diamond mogul, Gustav Graves. The film’s Icarus solar weapon comes into play too, and players will find themselves dodging the weapon’s blasts as they battle against Korean spies and Graves’ flunkies.

Licence to Kill meanwhile sees the martini-drinking secret agent paired up with U.S. Drug Enforcement Agent Pam Bouvier. Here, Bond embarks on a quest to avenge his friend and on-off colleague Felix Leiter and uncover an international drug operation spearheaded by Fran Sanchez. Players can expect to relive the movie’s climatic chase scene as Bond and Sanchez engage in a brutal punch-up on-board a moving tanker.

Fans will also be pleased to learn that Toby Stephens will be reprising his role as Graves in Die Another Day, while Carey Lowell is to slip back into the high heels of Licence to Kill’s Bouvier.

007 Legends is scheduled to ship in October 2012.
