Frank Gibeau, president of EA Labels, has revealed he’s clapped eyes on Sony and Microsoft’s next-generation consoles.
The executive dropped the news during his keynote at Gamescom this week. “I’ve seen both of them," he simply said (via Gamespot).
“Ten years ago we used to measure our market in terms of 200 million people. Now we are at a billion people playing games and we have a straight line view on 2 billion.”
He also backed the free-to-play business model, believing it will become “the dominant pricing model by the end of the decade.”
In regards to next-gen hardware, both Sony and Microsoft have yet to officially announce their new platforms, though it is widely believed they’ll be announced at E3 next summer and will hit shelves in late 2013/early 2014.
