The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s next expansion pack could be titled ‘Hearthfire,’ if a recent trademark filing by Bethesda parent ZeniMax is anything to go by.
For the uninitiated, Hearthfire refers to the 9th month in the Elder Scrolls calendar, which thematically would be a fitting title for the fantasy RPG’s next batch of DLC.
Of course, owners of the PlayStation 3 version of the game have yet to receive the first expansion, Dawnguard, which released on Xbox 360 earlier this summer.
As for what Hearthfire might consist of, OPM UK observes that this month is ripe with the Psijic Order of mages and Necromancers, suggesting a magic-themed expansion. Dawnguard focused on a band of Vampire hunters and featured a host of new armor, perks and weapons, so presumably we can expect some additional gear too.
