Evidence mounts for EA Gothenburg-developed Need for Speed

8 October 2012

Yet more evidence has suggested that a new Need for Speed title is currently in development at EA Gothenburg.

The studio has posted a job advertisement for a Senior Vehicle Artist, which states that the creation of vehicle-related assets functions as “a key role in the making of [Gothenburg’s] game.”

"As the vehicle is almost always located in the center of player's view, it's imperative that the vehicle looks sensational at all times," reads the job ad.

"This roles requires the artist to have a passion for cars to have strong artistic ability and technical knowledge to help further the overall quality of the vehicles in-game."

As with last year’s Need for Speed: The Run, the new game will utilize the Frostbite 2 engine.

An official announcement has yet to be made, though mounting evidence suggests that much of the staff on the project have worked on a number of big-name franchises, including Forza, Need for Speed: The Run and Project Gotham Racing.
