The chief sales and marketing officer of Ubisoft has indicated that the upcoming movie adaptation of Assassin’s Creed may be released in 2013.
Speaking during an interview with GI.biz, Sardin touched on the company’s plans to expand the series beyond the games, which includes a variety of transmedia efforts such as books, figures and, of course, the film.
“Another thing that is very important for the lifecycle is the transmedia offer. All the figurines, the books, the publishing, and we have a movie in the next coming year. So it’s not only about games, we are talking about a global brand, and this is the life cycle management we want to set up now,” he said.
It’s worth noting that Sardin didn’t explicitly state whether he meant the financial year 2013/2014 or next year for the actual release of the movie. However, the flick is being fast-tracked, so it seems we won’t be waiting too long regardless.
This year has seen the release of two Assassin’s Creed titles, namely Assassin’s Creed III and ACIII: Liberation, the latter a PlayStation Vita exclusive. Hit the links provided for our reviews of both games.
