PS Plus coming to PS Vita with update 2.00

13 November 2012

The latest system software update for PlayStation Vita will add the much-requested PlayStation Plus subscription service to the handheld, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has announced.

Previously available for PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network, PS Plus will be made up for grabs for the Vita on November 21. Furthermore, existing subscribers will be able to nab Plus at no extra cost.

Sony confirmed that the first titles available for the Instant Game Collection will be Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush and Chronovolt. Subscribers to Plus will gain access to four gamers per month, plus a host of other goodies such as discounts and online storage.

As mentioned existing PS Plus customers on PS3 will be able to enjoy the service for PS Vita at no additional cost. With PS Plus available on both formats, gamers will be able to snap up a host of cross-platform features such as the synchronisation of Trophies and game saves, plus up to 2GB of cloud save storage (1GB for PS3 and 1GB for PS Vita).

For those out of the loop, a year’s subscription to PS Plus will set you back €49.99 or you can opt for a 90-day subscription for €14.99.

PS Plus will be available in North America from November 19.
