PlayStation All-Stars gets Kat and Emmett (free) on February 12, new characters soon

The first round of character DLC for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will bring two wildly different fighters to Sony’s crossover brawler on February 12.

We’ve covered the details of Kat and Emmett Graves in a previous post; both are expected to inject serious variety into a roster that will soon reach 22 combatants. Kat’s ability to defy gravity and change air direction mid-motion should set up serious combo potential, while Emmett’s "Build & Battle" system (ripped straight from Starhawk) will give him access to no less than 5 (!) different Level 1 Supers, alongside various primary weapons like a shotgun or rocket launcher.

Alongside new trailers for each character (check them out below), Sony released new information on Fearless, the Heavenly Sword / WipEout stage that will launch alongside Kat and Emmett. The language of the blog post is vague, but it seems that Fearless will be free for all users in a content update, but only playable offline if purchased separately. Kat and Emmett will be free to download for the first two weeks of release, but those hoping to try out Fearless and practice locally before taking the fight online will have to pay for it.

There’s more good news coming soon for PlayStation All-Stars fans, as info on the next batch of DLC characters is teased for March. Keep it glued to PSU.com for all things PlayStation All-Stars in the meantime, including our review.
