A demo for Konami and PlatinumGames’ upcoming Metal Gear spin-off, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, will be unleashed when the PlayStation Store updates in North America today.
The content of the demo remains to be seen but – according to a Konami press release – will introduce Raiden as the main character in the game’s first chapter. Raiden is described as "a child solder transformed into a cyborg ninja killing machine" (which any Metal Gear fan can attest to). Further remarks indicate that Konami is hoping to capture the essence of masterful storytelling via Kojima Productions and thrilling action through the venerable PlatinumGames. Previous works of the latter include Bayonetta, Anarchy Reigns, Vanquish, and (as Clover Studio) Okami.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will launch for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 19, but if you can’t wait another minute, hop over to the PlayStation Store immediately to queue up your download. Word from Konami is that it’s already available.
