Call of Duty 4 a hot commodity

What do you expect from a game that is the forth edition is what is already a heavily sought after franchise? Would you expect to just walk into any ole store and see this game laying behind shelves in a large quantity? Well apply that same logic to Activision’s Call of Duty 4.

First it was Activision’s other property, Guitar Hero III, and now it is Call of Duty 4 that is reported as being sold out at many large retailers.

"We’ve checked with a wide range of retailers (Gamestop, Wal-Mart, Target), and only pre-orders are being satisfied-stores are otherwise sold out of the title." Said Todd Greenwald, Capital Partners analyst

In other words, at many retailers, if you didn’t pre-order, then you are out of luck until more supply becomes available. A lot of gamers take it lightly that a particular game would not be sold out but as evidence shows, the gaming industry is a powerful entity just like the movies and music industry.

Call of Duty 4 is Activision’s fourth installment in one of the best war FPS of the most recent years. This time, however, the focus changes from the heavily rehashed WWII setting, into a more contemporary affair.

In Call of Duty 4, players will fight alongside either U.S. Marines or British S.A.S. through an intense and thrilling story. Call of Duty 4 will also feature some of the best online multiplayer experience ever with deep customizable gameplay and groups of 18 players.
