Uncharted shown too early, says Naughty Dog

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is a wonderful game – no doubt about it. However, developer Naughty Dog thinks that they may have shown the game too early to the masses, making it the target of lasting criticism.

"We knew at the time that it [Uncharted] wasn’t, you know, solid — in particular the A.I. and the gunplay," said Evan Wells, Co-President of Naughty Dog.

"We put it out there hoping we’d get the benefit of the doubt that we still had seven months of production left and then of course, we got the feedback…and it was good feedback, and in some ways it was a great focus test for where we were headed."

We can’t stress this enough – although there was some harsh feedback in the past, Naughty Dog listened and incorporated that feedback in their development, making Uncharted a better experience because of it.

Regardless, it seems that the company will be a little more secretive on their upcoming project, which is expected to be sequel to Uncharted.

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is in stores now.
