Sony Computer Entertainment’s former chairman and CEO, Ken Kutaragi, has been appointed external company director for Marvelous AQL, reports Nikkei.
According to the site, Kutaragi’s new position will be made final in a stockholders meeting at the end of next month.
The former PlayStation boss’s wealth of industry knowledge will hopefully aid Marvelous AQL in boosting business in its home country and overseas.
Of course, Kutaragi is known to millions of gamers worldwide as the ‘Father of PlayStation,’ and was the driving force behind Sony’s foray into the videogames market with the original PlayStation.
Kutaragi stepped down from his role as chairman and group CEO in 2007, remaining with the company as honorary chairman (which he held until June 2011) and later, as a technology advisor.
