CD Projekt RED announces new Polish studio to assist with The Witcher 3 and other next-gen projects

CD Projekt RED, the brilliant minds behind the critically-acclaimed RPG franchise The Witcher, have invested in the development and quality of its titles by opening a new studio in Cracow, Poland. The developer’s staff are very excited for the expansion into Cracow, and what it means for CD Projekt RED’s future. According to Adam Badownski, who leads the the developer, Cracow is considered to be "one of the cultural and scientific centers of Europe," and he fully expects to see a full return on the investment.

Badownski says the new studio will help to further the developer’s goals of creating "better and better RPGs." Perhaps most importantly, the new studio will bolster the development of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. The Witcher 3 has already wooed gamers with its beautiful visuals and gameplay elements, while Cyberpunk 2077’s gameplay remains largely mysterious. The role of the new Cracow studio in the development of these games remains unclear, but only fuels the hype for these titles and what the developer will be able to achieve in the foreseeable future.

The Witcher 3 is expected to redefine the open world genre on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC next year. Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to release in 2015 or later for next-generation consoles.
